Day 1 Cycling to Arusha National Park | 22 Km

Your cycling tour kicks off with a gentle uphill ride heading south along the park’s main dirt track. As you make your way through this scenic route, you’re likely to spot playful groups of baboons and blue monkeys, offering memorable wildlife encounters right from the start.

About 2.5 kilometers into your journey, you’ll veer off on a short 1-kilometer detour to visit the historic grave of Margarete Trappe, famously known as the “Iron Lady.” A legendary figure in the area’s colonial history, Trappe was both a missionary and a skilled huntress. Here, you’ll pause for a short story about her life and impact on the region.

Back on the main road, you’ll ride for another 5 kilometers before turning into the Kilinga Loop — a 7-kilometer forest trail surrounded by dense vegetation. The thick canopy overhead often leaves the ground damp, creating a muddy and adventurous stretch that’s as thrilling as it is beautiful.

The final leg of your ride is a smooth 3-kilometer descent along the main track, taking you gently down to the Ngongongare Gate where your unforgettable cycling experience concludes.
