Day 0 Arrival – Arusha

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you by road to Arusha Coffee Lodge, where you will stay on a bed and breakfast basis. This charming town is nestled beneath the towering peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 1&2 Game viewing in Lake Manyara National Park
You will be transferred by car to Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight to the Manyara Airstrip. Upon arrival, our representative will greet you and escort you to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. After your journey, take the time to relax and enjoy the lodge’s splendid amenities, including the sparkling swimming pool. You can also indulge in a Healing Earth Wellness Treatment, either in your room or in the massage Sala nestled among the towering shady trees.

In the evening, embark on an exciting game drive. The park is renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions and the elephant herds it protects. Enjoy sundowners by the lake and spoil yourself by waking up early to witness the sunrise or savoring the golden peach hue of a colorful sundowner cocktail at the lakeshore. Additionally, you can take a cycling or walking tour in the local community to experience a bit of local life.

Day 3&4 Ngorongoro Crater

Take a scenic drive to the Manyara airstrip on the escarpment. Upon arrival, a representative from Ngorongoro Crater Lodge will meet you and drive you to your next lodge. The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area is home to more than 30,000 protected animals and offers spectacular beauty and excellent game viewing, making it a truly unique safari destination in Africa. The Ngorongoro Crater, once a gigantic volcano, is the largest intact caldera in the world. Today, it has collapsed and eroded into an expansive highland area, with the famous 600-meter-deep Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point.

Wake up early to stunning views of the Crater, and after breakfast, set off for a full-day game drive on the Crater floor, teeming with wildlife. Spot protected Black rhinos, giant tusked elephants, big-maned lions stalking the grasslands, and bright pink flamingos crowding the soda lakes. Take a stroll along the Crater rim with your guide and enjoy sundowners with a sensational view. In the evening, savor exquisite wine at the Winestore, where a special tasting can be arranged.

Day 5&7 Serengeti National Park

Take a game drive back to the Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled flight to your chosen camp in the Serengeti – either Serengeti Under Canvas or Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp. The Serengeti National Park, meaning "endless plains" in the Masai language, is one of the world's most celebrated wilderness areas, continuously inspiring writers, filmmakers, and photographers.

Your Camp Manager and Ranger will help you plan your days in the Serengeti. Enjoy twice-daily game drives with sunrise and sundowner stops, or opt for a full-day game drive with a delicious picnic, allowing you to spend the entire day exploring. At Serengeti Under Canvas, experience nature in an authentic way. Roam the sprawling plains on exhilarating game drives, or take a hot-air balloon ride for a once-in-a-lifetime wilderness adventure.

Delight in a shower under the stars, wake up to the golden sunrise through your tent, and sit around a cozy campfire, soaking in the romance and sounds of the bush, far removed from reality. At Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp, take time to enjoy the gushing river and playful hippos, as well as the exceptional year-round lion sightings. Alternatively, take the opportunity to visit Lake Victoria and engage with the local villages and experience their way of life.

Day 8 Serengeti to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Internationa Airport

Your unforgettable Tanzanian safari experience with Nyamera Treks and Safari comes to an end. Enjoy an early morning game drive and a delightful breakfast before being driven back to the airstrip. We bid you a fond farewell as you board your scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for a Tanzania safari largely depends on what you hope to experience. If witnessing the Great Migration in the Serengeti is your goal, then the dry season from late June to October is ideal, as the animals gather in search of water. However, if you’re interested in birdwatching or avoiding crowds, the wet season from November to May might be more appealing.

During this time, the landscapes are lush and green, and you may catch the birthing season, witnessing adorable baby animals taking their first steps. Ultimately, the best time for a Tanzania safari is when it aligns with your interests and preferences, as each season offers its unique charms and wildlife experiences.
