Arrival Pickup from JRO – Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will warmly be met by our representative and transfer you to your place of stay in Arusha for dinner and an overnight.

Day 1 Arusha Airport – Karatu District

Upon arrival at Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our experienced driver guides who will escort you to Karatu Town for your reserved hotel. If you will have time and energy, on the way you will have some stops and he will introduce you to this wonderful city and country.

In the past, the area around Karatu and OlDeani was of great importance to the German colonial administration. The area’s cool climate, verdant hills, and pleasing views make it popular with settlers and farmers. Coffee was the main crop grown for export, and a few large farms that remained in private hands still cultivated the cash crop on the hills and small valleys outside of town. Karatu offers splendid views of the northern highlands and is a popular base for visitors on their way to Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.

Day 2 Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a collapsed volcano boasting a diverse ecosystem teeming with wildlife. Visitors can expect to encounter the "Big Five," explore varied landscapes, witness breathtaking scenery, learn about the Maasai culture, and enjoy excellent birdwatching opportunities. This unique and unforgettable safari experience offers a chance to witness the wonders of the African wilderness up close within a protected and awe-inspiring natural setting.

Day 3 Central Serengeti National Park

The Central Serengeti, particularly the Seronera Valley, is a wildlife hotspot known as the "Big Cat Capital of Africa" due to its high density of lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Even outside the Great Migration, the region boasts abundant wildlife, with elephants, zebras, and giraffes frequently sighted. Distinctive kopjes provide excellent vantage points for wildlife viewing, while the Seronera River attracts a diverse array of animals.

During the Great Migration, the Central Serengeti becomes a key passage for millions of migrating animals, offering a spectacular display of wildlife movement.

Day 4-5 North Serengeti NP

The North Serengeti is a vast and relatively untouched region within Serengeti National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. It's a crucial corridor for the Great Migration, offering incredible opportunities to witness millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles on their annual journey. Beyond the migration, the North Serengeti supports a healthy population of resident wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and various antelope species. The region features rolling hills, open grasslands, and acacia woodlands, creating a breathtaking backdrop for your safari adventure.

Day 6 Departure

Fly from Serengeti to Kilimanjaro International Airport for flight back home.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for a Tanzania safari largely depends on what you hope to experience. If witnessing the Great Migration in the Serengeti is your goal, then the dry season from late June to October is ideal, as the animals gather in search of water. However, if you’re interested in birdwatching or avoiding crowds, the wet season from November to May might be more appealing.

During this time, the landscapes are lush and green, and you may catch the birthing season, witnessing adorable baby animals taking their first steps. Ultimately, the best time for a Tanzania safari is when it aligns with your interests and preferences, as each season offers its unique charms and wildlife experiences.
