8 Days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safaris

Overview

This 8/7 nights migration safari will see you exploring the Great Migration of Wildebeests, Big five animals in Tanzania national parks. The vast of Serengeti Plains with large herds of Wildebeests and its huge great migration ahead, you will explore Tarangire national park the home of large herds of Elephants and baobab tree with its stunning view of national park, and lastly Ngorongoro crater. Our sample safari itinerary – it can be adapted to suite your own personal needs and preferences or to any seasonal changes and migratory animal movements. As with all our Tanzanian safaris, we have offered you a variety of accommodation options – directly to your preference and according on the total safari costs in order to offer you the widest possible tour budget options. ARRIVE IN TANZANIA.

Upon arrival day into Kilimanjaro international airport (KIA) you will be meet with our representative  who will help you and assist with your luggage and transferred to the hotel for dinner and overnight while prepared yourself for upcoming safari.

DAY 1: MOSHI/ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NP.

At 8am after breakfast we will depart to Tarangire national park, you will be picked up from the hotel by your Safari guide and driven to Tarangire national park with lunch boxes to enjoy the wildlife surroundings. Overnight at Maramboi tented lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. 2 small bottles of water 500ml per person also provided. Tarangire national park is famous for its large herd of African elephant (Loxodonta africana) and massive huge of baobab trees together with its sources of water Tarangire River that refuges many wild ungulates during the dry seasons time. In most famous for African rock python of which are found within the park.

DAY 2: TARANGIRE NP – CENTRAL SERENGETI NP.

After morning breakfast, we will head towards the Serengeti National Park, leaving the Ngorongoro highlands behind, we descend into the soul of wild Africa  the Serengeti national park with its vast endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We enjoy a game drive en-route to the lodge.We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park. Dinner and overnight in the Seronera area Serengeti Serena Lodge in Full Board Basis.

DAY 3: CENTRAL SERENGETI NP.

Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arra ngement). Floating silently above the awakening bush, while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa, across rivers and over numerous small villages.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti Wildebeest migration normally pass in Seronera area (Central Serengeti) through in April and May, however the Seronera area is within reach of both the Southern plains and the Western Corridor. The majority of resident game in the area is phenomenal and species such as Elephant, Buffalo, Gazelle, Zebra, Lion and a variety of other predators and herbivores can be seen here all year round. Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world famous Serengeti short grass plains. See great herds of Wildebeest and Zebra. During a short time frame around February and March, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the Wildebeest calve in Ndutu plain area. The Ndutu grass provides little cover, and the young are easy pickings for a variety of predators. Wildebeest calves can start run up after few minutes during they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd. Late in the evening drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: SERENGETI WESTERN CORRIDOR.

Non game-viewing travel time: 2 hours Distance: 110 km After breakfast we head towards the western reaches of the Serengeti National Park, also known as the Western Corridor. We will do a game drive en-route from the Seronera area to the Western Corridor area. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch will we enjoy afternoon game drive in the area. The wildebeest migration can normally be found in the Western Corridor area from June to July and August, depending on rainfall patterns. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: SERENGETI WESTERN CORRIDOR.

After breakfast enjoy a full day game (unlimited game drive) in the Western Corridor. The key feature in the Western Corridor is the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers, running almost parallel to each other, each support a band of evergreen forest. The rivers sustain a permanent game population of Zebra, Wildebeest, all the predators and Birdlife. It is also possible to find large water ponds of hippo’s and huge crocodiles in the Grumeti River. The Wildebeest normally gather around waterholes midmorning in such densities, that they look like ants swarming around a nest. Dinner and overnight in the Western Corridor area.

DAY 6 : CENTRAL SERENGETI NP.

After early morning breakfast at the lodge, we depart to the western part of the Serengeti  around early morning drive back to the Central Serengeti national park on the way you will enjoy the wildlife grazing. Upon arrival to lodge you get dinner and overnight.

DAY 7: SERENGETI NP – NGORONGORO.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the lodge and loading everything driven to Ngorongoro crater. Ngorongoro crater is one of the famous for sanctuary endangered Black rhino (diceros birconis). Ngorongoro crater is one among of the natural world heritage sites and inscribed as cultural world heritage sites, the largest wildlife ecosystems on earth monitoring over a thousand wild ungulates and predators within the vast caldera. Ngorongoro crater as well as its famous for history for human being ancestors at Oldupai gorge. Ngorongoro crater is multiple land. On the way you will have lunch and later on arrive at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 8: NGORONGORO – MOSHI/ARUSHA.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the lodge and driven to Ngorongoro crater off the beaten path tour with your packed lunch boxes + 2 water bottle per person are also provided, today will descend again for the last crater tour game drive, about 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with is 600m length walls. Now at over 19 kilometers wide, a vast Ngorongoro crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest at Lerai, hippos filled swamps at ngoitoktok and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals including artiodactyla, perrisodactyla, and carnivores together co-exist, and unfortunately magnificent birdlife can see both water birds, raptors birds, and marvelous great flamingos and lesser flamingos. Afternoon after lunch at ngoitoktok picnic site we will drive for late game drive and ascend down the crater and drive back to Moshi/Arusha or direct to the airport for catch your flight back home.
